Day 5: The reel loop of a day
“So, what does the day look like, get up late, do some work, watch the reels in the free time, finish today's tasks, watch some more reels, status and repeat the same!”
Without noticing, a whole day can become work punctuated by reels. Seeing the loop drawn out is the first step to breaking it.
In the 2020 Facebook deactivation experiment, people who quit for four weeks freed up about an hour a day (59.58 minutes, the local average treatment effect). Much of it went to offline activities, including time with friends and family. Free time is where your loop either repeats or changes.
